Grade 9 students planning to take Physical Education 10 or CALM are advised to complete both courses, as they are each 9-day courses. Many Division high schools schedule these courses together and there may be limited opportunities to register in either course separately during the regular school year. If a student only does one through summer school, they will need to pick up the other during the regular school year.

Physical Education 10

Activities include games, dance/aerobics, racquet sports, outdoor pursuits, aquatics and fitness. Good attendance, participation and effort are required for success in this course.

A Field Trip Consent Form is required – these will be supplied to all students on their first day of class. No provision will be made for missed classes, late start or early release of students. Each student will receive a day to day schedule outlining both activities and venues, on the first day of class.

For the first class students are expected to be dressed appropriately to participate in outdoor or indoor activities. Recommended: cross-trainer type running shoes, shorts/sweats, t-shirt. A water bottle, hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent are also useful.

This class will be taught in person at the school site the student registers at.

Students 18 years of age or younger as of last September who have not completed Grade 9 must withdraw from class with no refund.
