Language Instruction for Newcomers
Study English, learn about living in Canada and make new friends. LINC is free to all newcomers (permanent residents and refugees) to Canada who are not yet Canadian citizens. LINC is offered by Metro in five levels, from CLB 1 to CLB 5. You will receive language training, orientation to the community, Canadian cultural experiences, and assistance in helping you develop the skills you need to live in a Canadian community. Before registering in a LINC class you need to have your language assessed by LARCC (Language Assessment, Referral & Counselling Centre) and they will give you a LINC card.
Instruction is offered from CLB 1 through CLB 4. The program provides language training, settlement skills and assistance, orientation to the community and Canadian cultural experiences.
