Summer school courses are planned based on historical enrollment needs for students at those sites. As such, the first stage of registration included zones to ensure those students have access to the seats that were built with them in mind.
As those students have had enough time to access those seats, as of May 4 we have now opened registration up to any division student, allowing students to register in any available classes across all zones.
What if I registered somewhere else and now see that a spot is open somewhere more desirable?
Students can absolutely transfer with a $60 transfer fee, as long as the student is eligible to register there.
What if I registered before now and don't want to spend another $60 to transfer?
There's no need to make any changes to your registration if you already have a space secured in another location. A transfer fee is only necessary if you'd like to adjust your registration.
What are Zones vs. Catchments?
Zones and your child's designated catchment school are two distinct (separate) boundaries:
- Designated catchment schools are defined by the Division.
- Zones are defined by Metro Continuing Education for the specific purpose of Summer School. As of May 4, 2026, enrollment is no longer restricted by zones.
