Summer School - High School

With Metro Continuing Education's Summer School, you can complete a 5-credit high school course in under four weeks! Choose from a variety of 10-, 20- and 30- level subjects to upgrade your marks or create more flexibility in your regular school year timetable. Summer School classes are also open to students who need to upgrade or complete their high school diploma for post-secondary pursuits. Please check back in March 2010 for a list of courses, dates, and times of Metro High School summer courses.

Diploma Exams

Metro offers the following 30 – level courses which require that students write a diploma exam upon completion of the course. August 2010 Diploma Exam Schedule dates are included.

* Students who want to rewrite a diploma exam but are not enrolled in an Edmonton Public Schools summer course are required to write their diploma exam with Alberta Education at the following address:

* Students are expected to attend all summer school courses and to write diploma exams, for the above courses, upon completion of summer school classes. Please plan your holidays accordingly. Adjustments will not be made to examination starting dates.

* Students are encouraged to contact their post-secondary institution to request a document deadline extension if they are hoping to use summer courses for fall entry to a university or college. Depending on the year, these document extensions are not always available.
