Adult Further Education
These courses help adult learners acquire the literacy, numeracy and employment skills needed in the workplace or to enter trades programs or further training.
In addition, students will receive first-aid certification and WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems) training.
Basic Skills
Prepare for the Gateways programs by mastering basic reading, writing, math and science skills. Also practise your communication skills and learn study and test-taking strategies.
15 weeks (375 hrs)
Fee: $2390 + $235 for books and materials
Visitors to Canada: $3490 + $235 for books and materials. Funding is available for eligible students.

Gateways to Employment
For adults, in preparation for employment
This full-time course integrates workplace English, math and science, life skills and employment-readiness skills. Potential service industry employees will benefit from this practical course. Practise your new skills with a work-experience placement included as part of the course.

Gateways to Apprenticeship
For students interested in entering the trades and/or registering for apprenticeship training
This course integrates classroom instruction in trades-related English, math and science and prepares students for writing the Alberta Apprentice and Industry Training apprenticeship entrance exam. Classroom instruction includes life skills and employment-readiness skills. Practise your new skills with a workexperience placement included as part of the course.
